According to statistics from Qunzhi Consulting, worldwide smartphone handsets (based on glass benchmark) shipped about 930 million tablets in the first half of 2016, an increase of 7.6% over the same period of last year. Among them, the global smartphone handsets (based on glass benchmark) 490 million, an increase of 10.7%. From the perspective of the production side of smartphones, the total smartphones manufactured in China in 2016 totaled 970 million tablets, an increase of 23.3% over the same period of last year. The imbalance between supply and demand caused the continuation of low-end stock outs.
Of which BOE LCD shipments ranked first, shipments exceeded 150 million tablets, ranked first in the LCD panel shipments; Samsung led AMOLED market, the first half of the shipment of smart phone panels reached 180 million, An increase of 65% over the same period of last year, and the shipping momentum has been rapidly growing. In the new pattern of "Three Kingdoms, Four Quarters," the panel makers in Mainland China seized the market trend. Pegasus and Longteng Optoelectronics witnessed substantial year-on-year growth in the first half of this year.
