In the first half of 2013, LG Display's large LCD panel topped the global market share.
According to a report released by Market Search Agency Display Search on the 20th, in the first half of this year, global shipments of large-size 9.1-inch LCD panels totaled 339.77 million units, a decrease of 5.2% over the same period of last year (358.37 million units). Among them, the LG monitor delivery volume was 88.96 million units with a market share of 26.2%, ranking the top of the list.
In the second quarter of this year, LG monitor shipments reached 44.35 million units, the market share of 25.3%, following the fourth quarter of 2009 after 15 quarter occupy the world's largest LCD panel market.
Samsung monitor shipments in the first half of 70.38 million units, the market share of 20.7%, ranking second place. In Taiwan, Innolux and AUO ranked third and fourth respectively in terms of 61.79 million units (18.2%) and 54.43 million units (16%). BOE, the largest monitor maker in mainland China, shipped 21.73 million units, making it the fifth-largest BOE shipper with 6.4% market share for the first time.

In the first half of this year, the sales of large LCD panels reached US $ 10.07 billion (27.4%) and sales area of 16.763 million ㎡ (25.7%), ranking the first in the world. In the first half of the year, the global sales of large LCD panels totaled 36.81 billion U.S. dollars, down 4.7% over the same period of last year. The overall sales area was 65,117,000 square meters, an increase of 9.8% over the same period of last year.
In terms of countries and regions, monitor manufacturers in mainland China are particularly prominent. In the first half of the mainland, the supply of large LCD panels accounted for 13% of the global market, an increase of nearly 4% over the 9.3% of the same period last year. Although South Korea's market share dropped from 52.8% in the first half of last year to 46.9%, it still firmly occupies the global champion. Taiwan (35.6%) and Japan (4.5%) all increased their market share by 1% year-on-year.
