Recently, Samsung Display and LG Display have fully expanded the OLED panel application market. Samsung Display has begun mass production of NB OLED panels, HP NB uses Samsung OLED panels, and LG Display Actively strive for mobile phone OLED panel orders, in addition to LG Electronics GFlex series mobile phone orders, also won the Xiaomi smart phone orders, although the Korean panel factory in the new OLED application area is still not large, but for The OLED panel industry is very meaningful.
According to South Korea's ETNews report, HP recently launched NB with Samsung display OLED panel. Samsung Display has been negotiating with HP and adjusting panel supply time and shipments in order to cooperate with the product.
The HP Spectrex360 is equipped with a 13.3-inch OLED panel, which is thinner than the LCD panel NB and weighs only 50 grams. Hewlett-Packard pointed out that the NB color performance of the OLED panel is significantly improved.
HP's NB is based on professional use such as image editing, photo, and drawing. It targets high-end customers and sells for $1,499. In the past, because NB mounted OLED panel will produce burn-in phenomenon, that is, the fixed image such as the toolbar below the display will still have residual image after the screen is switched, making the OLED panel less used in the NB field.
However, with the continuous development of OLED material technology, many related problems have been solved. In 2016, OLED panels will gradually be applied to the NB and monitor markets. In addition, Lenovo and Dell have also announced that NB and monitors equipped with OLED panels are in the preparation stage.
LG Display is trying to tap into the smart phone market that it has not been able to enter in the past. LG Display previously focused its efforts on large OLED TVs, and now it will try to enter the smart phone market with about 5 inches of screens. At present, the first external mobile phone OLED panel customer of LG Display is the mainland millet. The two parties cooperate to develop curved display products, and it is expected to supply and ship at the end of 2016.
In addition to Xiaomi, the industry also announced that Lejin Display will supply Huawei's mobile phone factory Huawei curved display. In addition, LG Display will also supply automotive OLED lighting, and has been favored by international car manufacturer Audi.
