                                             DSM Engineering Plastics has announced the Stanyl® LED 1551, the newest Stanyl product, and a leaded chip carrier (PLCC) for high-brightness LEDs. These LEDs are conventionally used as backlighting LCD panels for mobile phones, PDAs, notebook computers and handheld devices. The launch of the Stanyl LED 1551 is in line with DSM's strategy of fully understanding the new needs of its customers and launching new grades as quickly as possible to meet the rapidly changing market trends. John van den Bungelaar, product manager at Stanyl, DSM Engineering Plastics, stated in detail: "Based on benchmarking for competitive grades, our products are best suited for side and top view heights for up to 16" LCD panels. The SMT PLCC package of brightness LEDs can be confirmed by preliminary evaluations by some major customers. All customers will benefit from this new product, making their LEDs more efficient and reliable."


   The Stanyl LED1551 is a material that delivers high brightness and optimum reflectivity in mobile, handheld and notebook high temperature and high humidity applications.
